Trent's Family comes to Front Porch Farm

I had a blast photographing this precious family at the farm & in the studio last month.  They are a joy to be with! Trent is once again faced with cancer treatments and his dad wanted pictures before his hair fell out again.  Please pray for all of them as they face this second around of treatments!

When my hubby, Russell, told Trent to sit in the chair like his dad would and be "the boss", Trent loved it and said he would definitely need a copy of this photo! How precious his dad is to Trent!

Take time to hug those you love!

What a crazy couple of months!

By now you've figured out that I'm not a very regular blogger!
not because I don't want to, but because life gets in the way!

2011 has been a crazy year so far..... pneumonia, an arsonist on our property @ Front Porch Farm, and the death of a dear friend by suicide.   I'm hanging on to the fact that God always has a plan!
Never overlook the opportunity to hug your loved ones!!

I'm very happy to report that I've been very busy behind the camera!
I've had a blast taking pictures of beautiful ballerinas,

and gorgeous girls & guys on their way to their senior prom.
Could it possibly be 30+ years ago I was in their shoes?
The dresses are definitely more beautiful these days.

Loved photographing Lauren & Robert,
a young couple headed to the chapel this summer,
and my son and his girlfriend on Easter.

Thanks for reading! Hope your week is picture perfect!

Blessings,
Tammy

Pneumonia..... [ cough, cough ]

This has been my location of choice since a week ago Saturday.  I guess if I have to be in bed I'm darn lucky to have such a nice place.  I've never [ coughed and coughed]  & slept so much in my entire life!!

I must say that my hubby has been awesome this week!! He has taken care of me, the kids, the dishes, the laundry AND negotiated deals on two of his listings & closed 4 sales.  (He's the broker/owner of Cotton & Company Real Estate, LLC.)  Don't know how I (and the kids) would have survived the week without him!  Except for a trip to the doctor & going to see the last games (I refused to miss them) of the two Upward Basketball teams hubby & I are coaching, I have been in bed.  I am still in bed.  For someone that always has a list a mile long and prides oneself on getting things done, that is hard!! really hard!

On the bright side, it has been great having time between naps to catch up on some things I've been wanting to do.  At the top of the list was taking the time to figure out how to personalize this blog with my own wallpaper, colors, etc.   Originally, I just used one of the template wallpaper provided by blogger. I like the changes I've made - much more comfortable feeling & much more Front Porch Farm-like!  Since I personally do not like watching t.v., (except for my vice of watching the Bachelor or FSU football & basketball), I've had time to read a novel, "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett, and 3/4 of a lighting book, as well as, the manuals of some of my equipment.  I've watched at least 7 awesome DVDs on different photography topics.  So all in all, it has been a great week of learning (while coughing and resting).  It has also been heart warming to see how my children care about me.  Whether it is a 15 second check-in to see how I feel or a call from my oldest, it has been a blessing to me to feel their concern and love.  I am truly blessed by my family.

On a FUN note I wanted to let you know that in the coming weeks I'll be having some ~ Portrait Session GIVEAWAYS~ on our facebook page.  You can jump over there to "like" us so you will be in the know!

May you have a blessed week! Show someone that you care about that you love them!

On a personal note....Happy 9th Birthday Tyler!

If you know our story you might want to skip this entry.

This is Tyler Miles Cotton, our youngest son. Today is his 9th birthday!  I consider him a special gift.  After our first two children were born we decided our family was complete so hubby made a trip to the doctor....

Five years later we weren't so sure of that decision.  Brave hubby made another trip back to the doctor.  Two & 1/2 years later with an adoption underway & having just celebrated my 40th,  I made a secret trip to Walmart to buy a 3 pack of pregnancy tests.  And, yes, I used all three ---- just to make sure!

What a blessing this boy is!  He was 8 months old when we went to China to get his almost twin sister, Tayley. She was ten months old.   Thank goodness for "Almost Twins" God's way -  I only gained 50 lbs instead of 100.   We had to give 'the doctor' credit hence the 'Miles' in Tyler's name.  Can't imagine life without him!

I'm a blessed momma!

Monkey See Monkey Do! {Tallahassee Children's Photography}

A youngest child never wants to miss out on fun!
So Tynley decided if Tay was having fun in the Studio,
she must NEED to be there, too!

She brought one of her "favs", Curious George! She loves her "friends" well!

What a sweet little girl!
God knew she was just what we needed when He chose her for us.
But don't let that innocent look misguide you.
I know "pigpen" from Charlie Brown must be in her gene pool.
She can make a mess faster than anyone I know.
She keeps us on our toes (and knees wiping up the floor) !!
The girls have been taking guitar since the summer.
Tynley thought she "needed" an electric guitar.
I caved into the "need" all in the name of a birthday present.
 It weighs more than her.
She's learning "Smoke on the Water" (all us old folks know that one).
Curious George was never far from the action...
I'm thinking we'll use this photo for her CD.
Although, we might need a few more lessons until we are quite ready for that ..... (but I'll have it ready!)

I'm a blessed momma!
